Podcast

Writing isn’t easy.

It takes focus, dedication, and perseverance. And that’s just putting words on paper.

There’s also the head game - the thoughts that you don’t have anything to offer, or that it’s all a waste of time because everyone has said it already.

You believe that God has called you to write and that He has given you a message to share, but…

  • you’re not sure exactly what that message is, who needs to hear it, or how to even get it out there without being “salesy” or pushy.

  • you don’t know how to honor God with your words while also trying to earn some income.

  • is it even OK to earn money by writing about God?

The Purposeful Pen Podcast is for you if you struggle to understand how to use your writing to glorify God and serve others.

We talk about

  • all those thoughts that bounce around in your head telling you that you aren’t good enough.

  • what the Bible has to say about earning money for your work.

  • why it’s important to know who your ideal reader is and what exactly you have to offer him or her.

  • how to think outside the box and figure out what you really want to accomplish through your writing.

  • how to create a writing life that brings joy to you, glory to God, and benefit to others.

I’m Amy, your host!

Although I’m a native of Connecticut, I currently live in Wisconsin with my husband and three kids. I love coffee, dark chocolate, and contemporary worship music.

I’ve been writing for over 20 years and have been published in numerous publications, such as MomSense, ParentLife, Appleseeds, Encounter, and The Lookout.

I’m passionate about helping Christian writers grow in their confidence that yes, they do have something to offer, and to help them uncover what that is. I love getting to heart of issues and helping Christians grow in their faith and in their service to others.
